About Rootbind
Rootbind is a think tank set up to help organizations be more entrepreneurial in their thinking and approach. We do this by exploiting emerging research in our interactions with entrepreneurs, managers and investors. Reports, publications and discussions provide insight into business growth and succession from start-up to maturity for entrepreneurial and management thinkers. Rootbind literally translates into the Japanese word ‘Nemawashi’ which means ‘going around the roots to prepare for a transplant or change’. We believe that in uncertain global environments, in which businesses face complex challenges, consensus building will improve succession and sustainability.
Our systems approach is to consider the business as a whole, and the most effective way in which to extrapolate tacit entrepreneurial knowledge and harness entrepreneurial capital?
We often hear the following in research and consultation:
The entrepreneur “They won’t get it anyway. We need to always connect the dots, realise opportunities but manage risk.”
The manager “How did he/she get to that decision? We need systems and processes to increase productivity and efficiency.”
Rootbind is passionate about building and sharing knowledge about the dynamic interplay between these two different perspectives. It is critical when considering the contextual changes that result from strategic decision making thinking processes within a business. By bring together psychological and organizational theory with business experience, we are able to undertake and provide cutting edge research, as well as support in mentoring and consultancy. We strongly support the view that the chasm between business and research is too big, and actively engage in bridging it.
Whilst our passion, interest and experience is in science, engineering and technology sectors, please feel free to contact us from other sectors for an introduction or collaboration. We have a strong network of global businesses and are constantly developing our relationships.
